Specimen:
Steneosaurus gracilirostris
Location: Whitby, N,Yorks England
Age: Upper Lias, Bituminous shale's 180 million years old
Description: Crocodile remains from Yorkshire Coast
are relatively common but most of the time the skeletons
of these creatures are up in the cliffs, hundreds of feet out
of the reach of most collectors and only when small
cliff falls happen do we see tantalizing  evidence of them
being there at all, so when they are found they are usually
broken specimens and lots of pieces are missing or still
up in the cliff until another slice decides to fall and reveal
other fragments, this partial rostrum being a prime
example, although not complete it shows both upper
and lower  jaw with teeth down one side,
making this a quality specimen for the collection .
Size: Rostrum 3cms high x 3.5cms width & 8cm length
Sold Price: GBP: £180.00  Currency Converter
