Description: Although only partial this is a well
articulated paddle of this rare Ichthyosaur,
partial let alone full articulate paddles are not
often seen from the Yorkshire Coast the
preservation is excellent lots of detail even an
ammonite lays amongst the paddle elements.
The paddle is in shale but has been resin backed.

Specimen: Ichthyosaur Eurhinosaurus

Description: As you can see this group of bones is
well disarticulated it shows small teeth associated
with the Euhinosaurus it also shows the inside of
one of the plates that make up the top of the skull.
 at the rear of these plates is the back of the lower
jaw, and the atlas vertebrae which attaches to the
back of the skull is just at the side of the jaw.
This piece has been acid prepared and shows some excellent detail only achieved from this method of preparation.
